First up is cleaning and lubricating the fork. Keep it from rusting—it’ll move really smoothly.
The maintenance we do here is basically just cleaning, lubrication, and rust prevention, so I think you can definitely do it yourself.
The rest comes down to judgment calls as you go—”Is this a problem? Will it be okay?” I don’t think there’s much of a special or ultra difference.

Clean the chain and lubricate it.
