Well then, here’s the long-awaited styling project.
If we’re not careful, the number of people riding early-model GSX-R750 GR71 might drop dramatically…
With this new face, it comes stock with…
・17-inch wheels!
・43mm forks!
・Nissin calipers!
・Thinner tank!
・Vacuum carburettor!
Well, that’s obvious… because it’s a J-model, you know.
I’ll make some fitting progress in between.

I’ve shaved down the ears quite a bit and will keep shaving.
I’ll reinforce it while it’s still solid. The vibe is a bit period-correct, kind of squishy.

For now, the edge reinforcement is done.

Should I modify the fairing or the fairing bracket?
I’m torn… and I also wondered if I should keep the original fairing too,
but since I’ve already cut the ears, I want to keep the fairing as unmodified as possible.
I’ll fabricate an OEM chin mount and join them together.

Surprisingly, I tack it and check the position and go “hmm?”
Remove it, tack it again… “hmm?”
I must have removed and installed the fairing at least 30 times today… (including the light bracket).

I’ll do left and right fitting based on the chin.
Before that, there’s some subtle contact, so I want to cut boldly.
If I make the headlight smaller and set it back a bit, it looks more aggressive…
*This time I’ll skip it because it’s a hassle.
