ZRX1200 Deco-mainte request for active throttle installation.
We have to remove the carburetor, so it takes some work. The throttle cable will be our usual DIY throttle cable.
The Kawasaki throttle just plugs into the body. I thought about clamping it with a nut, but that won’t work, so we’ll do it the same way.
We settled on gunmetal for the holder after discussing it with the customer the other day. It honestly just looks like a slightly darker silver. My apologies.
Always install the stopper. The holder has threads cut into it for locking there. The included stopper bolt and nut are long so they work with any winding. A simpler look might actually be cooler.
We’ll replace the coolant. It was in a state where it looked either dark or slightly blackish.
If the radiator cap looks old, go ahead and replace it.

The levers and pedals were already lubricated. We’ll clean them up this time and apply fresh grease.
When you have things apart, cleaning and rust-proofing hard-to-reach spots will help keep everything in good shape longer.
We straightened out the bent pedal too.
Remove the side stand and oil it, and getting on and off will be smooth.
