A suggestion to make it easier to remove the oil filter?
The GSX-R750 GR71 series is unique in that its oil filter differs from other oil-cooled models.
Plus, the larger outer diameter means it’s hard to remove and hard to install. We don’t stock it either, and with so few compatible options, we were worried it might disappear someday—but that’s no longer a concern.
Sorry, this is a pretty rough measurement. But it should be fine, or so we figured.
To put it in extreme terms: as long as it’s tight, the O-ring seats on the surface, and there’s no leak, it’s OK.
We carefully squeezed in and made the swap. Now the 1100/1200 series filters will work. Maybe we should label the undertube with a label maker so nobody makes a mistake…
Now that we’ve sorted this out, oil filter changes should be a breeze.
