Starting with the fabrication. Machined 7N aluminum.
Since it doesn’t take much load, we’re just doing some threading and reinforcement.
Finished with our usual paint.
It looks quick when you watch, but draining the oil, washing the inside, drying it, polishing the weld spots, degreasing—it’s surprisingly tedious and takes a long time.
A mysterious product we can’t commercialize. On GSXR1100K through N models, when they crash, the upper fairing stay bends slightly, which throws off the center fairing position.
I had the dimensions from the GSXR1100L model I made last time, so I gave it a shot, but it just wouldn’t fit.
I made about five different angles from scrap material, and this time 63 degrees seemed to work just right.
A subtle detail: it looks cooler when the grab loop doesn’t stick out past the fairing.
By the way, it ends up super solid.
