Here’s a recent job. Front maintenance + SKF &Newtech fork oil overhaul.
The race condition looks good. It still seems usable, but we’ll replace it anyway.
The grease had blown out quite a bit.
Just light scratches that wipe away easily.
There are surprisingly a lot of burrs… let’s remove them.
We replaced the races and confirmed them visually.
We applied Newtech NC100 grease and reassembled it.
Quite a bit of dirt, whether from brake dust or otherwise.
Pop… just like that.
We disassembled it, washed it, took apart the fork cap, polished it, and it came out clean.
The inner tube looks fine too.
We blended and used Newtech fork oil.
After bleeding the air and adjusting the oil level, we finished.
