Cast iron about 4mm thick—at this thickness you can punch it out with a press. Pretty neat.
Though it would be tough without a shear blade.
Drilling the hole is a no-cost racing mod.
The button-head bolts holding the soundproofing material inside the cover strip constantly. The threadlocker is insanely strong—even a chisel won’t budge them. We had to weld the nut on to finally get both sides off.
Much cleaner now. Looks like the drive sprocket bolt retainer is headed for the scrap heap.
