We stripped the original tank, polished it, and finished it with a single coat. The clear coat has cured, so we’ll get it mounted right away.
Of course, it would rust if left bare, so we’ve coated it with ceramic clear. It should hold up to gasoline as well.
The “HONDA” logo is from an older model. There are various outer diameters available, and we were lucky to find one that was close in size.
The bikini fairing comes off easily, so you can have fun swapping it out if you get tired of it.
It’s reduced the plasticky feel of modern bikes and added more of a metal vibe—it looks really good.
