The owner mentioned something seems slightly off. Given the mileage, I think it’s about time for this.
We found fine rust on all four tanks, numbered 1 through 4.
There’s quite a bit of rust.
We can see what looks like water (rust water) at the bottom. This is troublesome.
The vacuum cap has aged and cracked; the one on tank 1 has blown off and is missing.
I’m getting concerned about the availability of original parts. Since rubber components can’t be helped, it’s safer to replace them.
When removing the carburettor, replace the throttle cable at the same time. When the carb is off is the perfect opportunity.
There was still quite a bit of NC100 residue.
The handlebar looks nice and clean.
The air filter looks clean too. We made a mistake on a parts order and it’s on hold.
