Even though this fender’s rust has a really nice patina, it seems like few people would agree with that.

The rim is safer when cleaned up. Letting it build up becomes a hassle. But if you do it every time, it’s easy.

Since they wanted tubeless, I went with TR412. I’m still working out what to do about the rear bead stopper hole.
Even with press-fitting and welding, I have a feeling it might warp… Though warming the wheel first might help.
Tapping a taper and plugging it seems like the most reliable approach.

The air valve doesn’t always end up at the bottom, so with the wheel’s center of gravity and the tire’s light spot, there’s a feeling that the weight might come down a bit.

Bias tires have improved in recent years, but you can still feel a little runout.
I replaced the speedometer cable too.
