Bandit 1200 Flat-Rate Motorcycle Inspection & Carburettor Maintenance

With a filter like this, we can remove large debris. Keep in mind that flow rate may drop somewhat.

Since we’re reusing the filter, checking the depth and other dimensions is essential.

We check the float valve for stepped wear and rubber hardening. We verify that the spring tension on the pin side is normal, replace it if there’s an issue, and reuse it if everything checks out.
If there’s a problem, overflow occurs—but is it a float valve issue? Debris contamination? Or abnormal fuel level?
That’s what matters.

DSC00044
Float level is a spot we want to check. You don’t need to measure it with extreme precision, but it’s worth looking at.
Since the float is fixed, we skip the actual fuel level check.

The synchronization is barely off. I made a small adjustment and got it set.

DSC00050
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the area you pointed out.
We’re out of hose clamps, so this is on hold for now.
