Z1000R Fork Maintenance & Carburettor Maintenance

Fluid was leaking and I was in a bind
 

 
This is a Z1000R.
It looks like it’s had quite a few modifications . . .
 

 
It’s got quite an aggressive smell to it . . . .
The steering damper is working pretty hard—I wonder what it’s supposed to feel like normally?
But when I checked it, the steering is in good shape ★
 

 
For now, the SKF fork seals are earning our complete trust
I’m not particularly worried about friction ★
I prefer to use plenty and have it last a long time.
We’re on hold until the carburettor parts arrive!
