XR250 Baja: Little by Little

This is Bax’s Baja.
The threads on the right step were shot,
and he’d been asking for a helicoil insert for quite a while now.
Today it was raining, so all appointments got canceled and I was organizing tools and killing time.
 

 
A box of useless Snap-on helicoils turned out to be handy,
and while I was at it…
 

 
he had front and rear sprockets with him, so I swapped those out.
 

 
The bearings at 40,000 kilometers were cleaner than expected inside, but their action wasn’t quite perfect.
 

 
Newtech Bamboo—and an oil change while we were at it.
Plus he wanted the gasket on the secondary air outlet replaced.
Tight… really tight… but my fingers are surprisingly thin, so I managed to squeeze through.
