The body and collets come in different sizes and cost a fair bit.
Mine is a small toy lathe,
and people keep telling me I should upgrade already,
but since I don’t really do machining or customization work, it’s fine.
Let me test it—drilling a pilot hole in a 17mm scrap piece (thread diameter minus pitch).
Spin the spindle and feed it in—

This is nothing like using a tap handle to turn it manually…
