As a celebration gift for the move,
we received from MJ! A brand we can trust completely.
We had received a Panasonic “Otax” phone,
but we hadn’t used it because setting it up and transferring the phone book memory was a hassle.
Starting around yesterday, the phone started acting up.
The call sound was distant, there was static, and our voice echoed back—it was terrible.
Then it got worse and faxes stopped coming through.
Next, we couldn’t call fiber optic phones (though we could reach analog and cell phones).
After fiddling with it, finally all calls became impossible.
We just heard the automated message: “The number you have dialed…”
We called NTT from a cell phone but got “We’re busy, please wait.”
We tried everything, but we ran out of ideas.
We figured that phone unit (Otax, purchased in 2002) must be broken.
So we connected a new one,
and boom! It worked right away!
By the way, we spent four hours on this today.
Rather than get frustrated, we’re just glad it’s fixed now ★
Now we can filter out those unsolicited faxes that were coming in!
