Well, well,
I’m going to drain the oil and change the hose routing, so I’ll remove it once

Oh no

That was close!
But we don’t have any fittings in stock ★
Time to dash over to Togashi Engineering!!

Ideally I’d route #1 and #4 on the outside,
but replacing all the fittings and hoses would be expensive, so I’ll just replace the problem spots—
and reuse the rest!
Putting heat shrink tubing on the hose keeps it from getting all scraped up, which is nice ★
When pressure builds up in the hose, it tries to straighten out, so areas like around the muffler need extra attention.
Honestly, I still wonder how long these aluminum fittings actually last?
That’s the question I keep asking myself.
Years ago, my GSF1200 had a hole in the stock hose (super tiny),
and oil poured out everywhere—I thought I was going to crash again at the Shin-Yamashita on the Bay Bridge!!
Looking at this fitting that’s worn down, you can see the hose near the connection point is fluttering a bit,
which might be the issue. In the past, when I used overly soft high-pressure hose, it broke near the connection twice,
and it got dangerous. Since then, I’ve only used Kachipan R’s hose.
Oil systems are really scary ★
I’ve been moving the cooler around and doing all sorts of things—
