GSX-R1100 Overflow: Part 5

I had yesterday off
and wandered up to Hakone ♪
After an email saying “I’ll stop by on the way back”
came a phone call: “Gas is pouring out everywhere!”
The owner is pretty handy, so we tried draining from the drain plug and all sorts of things on the spot, but nothing worked.
It was risky, but we managed to limp back home ★
Here’s the report from the scene.
 

 
This… doesn’t look like a leak from something clogged, does it?
I thought maybe a hose came loose, but it didn’t.
It’s pouring out from the air jet area ★
As long as the needle valve doesn’t drop, I wouldn’t think it would get that bad… but…

The valve seat got pinched with pliers and deformed. (Not by me!)
Somehow it got
 

 
stuck like this ★ It needs to spin freely inside the seat.
Seeing stuff like this happen out of nowhere is scary…
If it happened while ripping it up on a mountain pass… yikes!
 

 
We’ll check the fuel level and passages. We’ll swap out the hoses too.
