The Flat-Rate Motorcycle Inspection is done and dusted,
and we’d love to dive into the work—
but it’s end of month, so we’re dealing with estimates, invoices, and wallet checks. Ugh.
The bike’s being picked up too, so things are coming and going.
First up: levers and pedals.
We disassemble the levers and apply a thin, even coat of grease.
Check the pins and other parts for wear too.
We disassemble the pedals the same way,
but bikes that have never been taken apart before are a nightmare—they’re caked with thread-locking compound.
We lubricate those with grease too.
We remove the throttle sleeve, polish the handlebar, and apply oil (a certain chain oil) to it.
Grease doesn’t work well for smooth operation. ★
We remove the side stand, clean it up, and reinstall it.
Grease goes on the side stand pin (bolt), the mounting surface, and the spring pins (two spots).
That satisfying click when the stand pops out—feels great.
