With the installation of shop organization supplies I’d stockpiled finally wrapping up,
I can finally get to work this evening ☆
For now, I’ll just swap out the O-rings and seals that arrived today.
Slide valve block / pilot screw / float / needle valve / top cap
The slide valve block is constantly submerged in gasoline, so it’s in a harsh environment.
The needle valve and float area are also soaked in gasoline, so this part is important too ☆
Even if the needle valve isn’t worn, O-ring degradation can cause the fuel level to rise
and overflow, or even if it doesn’t overflow, I’ve seen cases in the past where the fuel level stays high and the carb runs poorly.
The float is only supported by O-rings, so when they degrade it gets all loose and sloppy.
Better to replace them regularly ☆
During reassembly, I found a spot where the hose makes contact, so I’ll file it down and double-check tomorrow.
While I’m at it, greasing up the idle screw makes it turn nice and smooth.
Yay!
