An exceptionally shiny GS1000E.
Once you take it apart, you find surprisingly many things that need improvement.
There’s an excessive amount of grease caked on—throttle sleeves, axle shafts and such—and it attracts dust.
A chain that’s too tight doesn’t roll smoothly, and when the rear axle and pivot are horizontal, tension gets applied to the countershaft,
which isn’t good for it or the chain either.
First get it moving freely, then improve from there—that’s how I’d approach it.
