Ended up taking the day off and wandering around town—that’s Decoboco for you.
So it’s been a while since I went shopping, and I headed into town on the Foresight… first stop was Daikanyama.
I picked up a Gigabeat and a small hard drive, so I wanted something to put them in, you know?
Went to Atelier Penelope http://www12.plala.or.jp/penelope/ and scored a cute little container.
Next, with light rain starting to fall, I headed to the Muji in Shibuya—I could’ve gone to Sangenjaya, but figured I’d mix it up for once ★
It’s inside Parco… this place used to have two floors, didn’t it?
Now it’s down to one floor and pretty minimal—not much there. But I did grab a soy sauce container (for making garlic soy sauce).
While I was poking around, I spotted a handy storage bag!
Looks perfect for the next MC overnight trip, so I grabbed it ♪ Since I end up with more stuff when I stay over,
this should pack away pretty much everything.
Next I was hunting for a frying pan lid and headed to Tokyu Hands. The problem is, T-fal doesn’t make a lid for the 22/26 cm size I need,
so I’m stuck. Without a lid, I can’t make gyoza properly—I have to keep taking it off and putting it back on.
So yeah, it’s not there! Hands doesn’t have it either. Glass would be ideal, but cutting it would be a pain, so I’m looking for stainless steel,
but no luck…
Then…
You know how they sometimes have street vendors inside Hands? I happened to notice one of these.
It’s like an evolved version of a vegetable peeler (been around forever). I thought it looked sketchy, but since I had time, I watched the demo right there
and was like, wow, that’s amazing!—even though I was the only one around to praise it!
The cutting was so sharp and it was cheaper than the list price, so I ended up buying it…
That very night I made a salad and ate it! It cuts incredibly easily! Seriously amazing.
Then I went and bought a knife too, so I spent a completely pointless day~
But this knife is super light and cuts dangerously well… even soft, ripe tomatoes go right through!
And that vegetable slicer from earlier? It can peel tomato skin without even blanching them first!
I mean, did I make good purchases or what? That’s just how I roll—I’m Dameko-chan.
