This time it’s a GPZ1100♪ It’s Mr. M’s bike!
Since this is a Kawasaki, it’s outside the campaign scope. Well, shall we strip it down?
Wow, it’s scuffed up something fierce! The intake side is pretty much a total loss. The exhaust side is mild and should be fine!
Looking at that badly scuffed cam reminds me of some GSF I know about.
With all that scuffing, the engine noise got louder, and then eventually the top end got really slow, and when we checked it turned out to be running like stock.
It had transformed into a low cam!
The shim size is the same as the final oil-cooled version, so it’s super easy! We finished it up with what we had on hand!
And the cam chain was slack too, so we tightened it up one notch.
Now all that’s left is to assemble the carb bomb, install the Brembo master and caliper, swap out the handlebars, and we’re done!
