On Saturday, a GSX-R750 came in for maintenance, and since I had other work to do, things were pretty hectic.
I took them up on their offer to help, gave instructions while they removed parts, handled the critical bits myself, assembled everything, and then did a check and test ride.
Once that was done, the labor charge came out cheap since I only really touched the essential parts. The customer was thrilled both by the joy of working on it themselves and by how affordable it was.
They said they didn’t need the change, but I didn’t take it—they wanted to try more things and booked their next appointment before heading out.
So that’s how it went.
By the way, we could do non-drop-off repairs where customers bring their own parts, and charge a flat rate of ●,000 yen per hour for shop space and advice.
Would people actually want to do their own work that way?
Of course they can use the tools and get advice indoors. That’s the idea I came up with while I was in the bath with the cat!
Got a motorcycle ban notice and I’m a bit shocked! And they called 110 on top of it all.
