Took the DR400 in for inspection… failed because the light output was insufficient.
Bumped up the bulb wattage and tried again… failed (at the tester shop) in that range.
Tried with a different reflector and bulb… failed (at the tester shop) and it’s even darker.
Tried with a Raybrig 60/60W equivalent bright bulb… failed.
What’s going on?!
(My guess) Maybe it’s a coverage area issue? The spot where the light shines is extremely bright, but it doesn’t spread over a wide range.
When you average out that difference, it comes out dark, which is why it fails—or so I’m guessing.
Anyway, I’ll try with a different headlight and give it another shot.
