As I’ve mentioned before, I’m terribly inconsistent and just can’t stick with anything!
I had a health checkup last year and, for the time being, nothing abnormal showed up.
I don’t smoke, and after getting wasted at the year-end party the year before last, I’ve barely been drinking since then.
And yet… Do you smoke? NO! Do you drink alcohol? Hardly at all.
Hmm? What’s this? Your liver values are getting close to being outside the normal range.
This time there’s no problem at all, but you should be careful, they said.
Okay. For now, make sure you always eat breakfast and try to eat three meals a day, they said.
Okay.
That was early this year, and here we are now! But I was thrilled when my rice cooker arrived ♪
I love electrical appliances! I get all excited reading the instruction manual! Anyway, I’ve been eating breakfast every day now.
And it’s brown rice! At first I was like, what is this? It felt grainy, seriously, but it’s all about how you cook it.
White rice is definitely sweeter, but brown rice has more bite to it.
Anyway, I’m working on making breakfast sides! I’m looking for things that are easy to make and don’t spoil, so I’m on a dried goods kick right now.
So! I’ve been working with freeze-dried tofu and just tried simmering it in mentsuyu!
Last night I diluted it three times but it was still strong, so today I’m doing four times! It smells amazing.
Then I threw in some wakame seaweed that expands even more…
It smells like wakame ramen… that “I love wakame, I love wakame” commercial—there’s probably a whole generation now that doesn’t know it.
I’ll chill this and eat it for breakfast.
If my head’s sharp, a fried egg would be perfect! I like mine half-cooked, or basically almost raw!
Unpoco unpoco
