On November 4th and 5th, we closed the shop and went on an overnight tour.
Since this was our first overnight tour, and considering our track record of constant trouble,
I had nothing but a bad feeling that something would go wrong.
Before we left, I asked, “You’ve packed some basic tools on your bikes, right?” but nobody answered me (I didn’t have any either).
Alright, let’s go! We don’t ride as a group.
Our paces are different, and in a long convoy, the riders at the back have a harder time with traffic lights and lane splitting.
So, let’s meet up at Kōfu-tsu on the Saisho coast! ♪
Now we’re off. First, we need to decide where to fill up with gas. If we fill up at the entrance to the Daisan Keihin, it gets crowded,
so we’ll do it along the way.
And then we cruise smoothly! The stalling issue has improved, so we can ride with confidence.
Our secret weapon: ETC! This thing is amazing ♪ Honestly, for motorcycles it’s absolutely essential! No matter how fast you go on the highway,
getting stuck at a toll booth is no good.
Safety comes first.
On the way to Route 134 along the coast, we ran into some nasty clouds—a thunderstorm!
Oh no! Flash! Rumble rumble! Pouring rain!
Come on! The forecast didn’t say anything about rain!
It was pouring! I took shelter at a convenience store, bought a 1,000-yen rain poncho, and continued on.
The rain stopped partway through, and when I thought we’d made up for lost time and arrived at the PA, nobody was there…
Why? Apparently, while I was buying and putting on the rain poncho, everyone else had taken shelter somewhere else.
It got completely dark, and our broke crew chose the old road through Manazuru, which has few streetlights. ♪
It was dark. The smoke shield was completely useless! I should have switched to a yellow one.
As we kept going and couldn’t see much, I decided to open the shield…
Whoa! The road surface is wet! I hadn’t noticed at all!
I thought I might slip at the seams—it was a close call.
Anyway, we made it safely to the inn and moved on to the party portion.
