Today we headed to the power check again!
I’m Ore Prince Matsun. I swapped out the carburetor for a TMR MJN and did a quick setup.
Based on past data, I figured it would be around this point, so I did it in about 10 minutes with no test ride.
We had a reservation and started at 7 PM.
The curve isn’t super clean, but we got lots of data!
1. 1.8 degrees advanced
2. 2.2 degrees retarded
3. 6 degrees advanced
That’s it! Now let’s check the results…
1. 145.4 hp / 11.9 m·kg…
Suddenly 13 hp higher—amazing! Direct carb is fearsome.
2. 136 hp / 12.1 m·kg…
Poor throttle response and down 9 hp! Oh no, that’s not good. Let me change the plan and advance it 6 degrees!
3. 145.5 hp / 12.2 m·kg…
A new record on the third run! It’ll probably go a bit higher before the oil temperature rises. ♪
At least we got results, so I’d like to fine-tune the setup when I get a chance!
