Mileage about 60,000 km! It’s been ridden more than it looks…
I finished the carburettor and valve clearance last night, so here’s the update right away.
The carburettor is surprisingly dirty… I was shocked! Around the butterfly valve there’s carbon buildup everywhere, and the body too is
completely black! Well, this isn’t really a place you’d normally wash, so it can’t be helped ♪
I’ll scrub the body clean ☆
It came out surprisingly clean! Next I’ll take it completely apart… The internal wear doesn’t look too bad…
But the O-rings and float valve should be replaced! Given the mileage ☆
The float valve is like a plug that regulates the amount of gasoline flowing into the float chamber.
Even with this kind of vacuum, some can be adjusted, so it’s also a tuning part.
Anyway, getting back on track, even tiny debris or a step here can change the fuel level…
When you take the carburettor apart at 20,000 to 30,000 kilometers, replacement is essential.
Even with new ones, I want to visually check them: the taper section for scratches and the pin section for spring tension.
I’ve seen cases before where even new ones had poor return on the pin section, so watch out.
If you push with your fingernail and it moves smoothly, there’s no problem.
Huh?
