How do you choose a muffler?
Most people make their purchase decision by looking at the balance between price and performance.
A good sweet spot is around 200,000 yen.
But including myself, it’s something that goes back and forth…
What does?
For example! You buy a full exhaust for 150,000 yen, swap out the silencer, machine the tailpipe, make a bracket, and so on—
Then you end up spending an additional 100,000 to 150,000 yen (depending on the parts), so you’ve really spent 250,000 to 300,000 yen total.
Funny thing is, once you’ve paid for something, you don’t think much about it, but then you add another 50,000 or 70,000 yen anyway.
Sometimes you end up buying a new muffler over and over again.
It’s hard to do, but you should buy what you really want from the start, or build it from the start.
