Following the recent feedback, I’m doing a friction check just to be safe.
I remove the spring and pull the damper all the way out. I watch how it operates and how it changes as I reassemble it.
Considering the seal resistance, I apply a small amount of metal rubber and work it back and forth…

I should probably reduce the preload a bit so it moves more freely.
It’s moving a lot better now. At first glance, it doesn’t seem to be getting a full 1G…
