It’s been a while since I’ve worked on the GSF.
I feel like I haven’t started the engine or ridden it in quite some time.
I’ve stopped thinking about what to do here and what to do there.
I finally got my hands on that compact starter motor I’d been wanting!
Using the latest OEM parts this way brings the joy of improved performance and weight reduction while maintaining safety.
Now let me measure the weight…
GSF1200: 1730 g
GSX-R1000 K7: 1070 g
That’s a 660 g weight reduction.
But direct installation isn’t possible, so I’ll need to fabricate spacers and supports first.
I’m hoping to get around 500 g of actual weight savings.
