Here’s an update on the work I reported before ★
The Bandit 1200 and GSF 1200 have different exhaust-side cams.
This changes the valve timing, and I wondered if that’s where the power is being held back?
That’s what I thought.
So we put it on the chassis dynamometer and tested it for real!
Before: 2008/02/23 — 110.8 HP at 9013 RPM
After the cam swap: 115.1 HP at 9469 RPM
We saw a 4.3 HP power increase!
The torque dropped just a tiny bit, but that’s charming!
Honestly, you really feel the difference when you ride it. Before, when you opened the throttle, the acceleration felt sluggish,
but now it goes “whoooosh” and takes off.
I think it’s a pretty interesting modification.
By the way, I wanted pure stock data, so we didn’t change the jets or anything else ★
Sorry it’s not monthly!
