Our shop has a big air conditioner, and this thing is powerful!
My eyes get dry, and it’s hot!
And in summer it’s cold!
It’s been acting up for a while now, and even set to 29 degrees, the air feels cool.
I was really troubled by it.
I figured I’d check the air cleaner, and when I looked… it was filthy!
After cleaning it, it became seriously powerful… it’s so cold now!
Now we have a Z1000. While we’re at it, let’s check the valve clearance too.
Maybe it’s because I don’t work on these newer models much.
The valve clearance is pretty wide on this one.
Here’s the factory service data:
IN: 0.15–0.24
EX: 0.22–0.31
Well, it’s within spec, so we’re good.
No scoring, and the cam chain is fine too.
Next up is the plan to lighten the clutch, and we’re done!
