but nothing’s gone smoothly since the start of the year.
I wonder if my poor efficiency is just a sign of a poor mind…
The model year is recent, the mileage is low, and the owner brought it in clean, so it doesn’t take much time.
I wonder how tight the linkage bolts are.
Why is there no grease on the bolts and nuts at all?
Anyway,
I finish disassembly and wash everything three times: a rough wash, a wash on the cleaning stand, and then polish and inspect before a final wash.
The pivot and link collars show no step wear, just light contact, so I polish them lightly on the lathe.
I give them a good polish.
Pivot, upper and lower link plates, link mounting section, rear suspension lower mount—
I check the direction of load and assemble the collars.
The grease is the usual white stuff from Newtech.
When disassembling, I also clean the chain slider and give it a light oil, which really improves chain movement.
Plus, if I clean and oil the chain adjustment bolts too, it makes adjustment easier.
