So here we have a Bandit with 96,000 kilometers on it already.
A bike that’s been ridden this much is really educational.
I really love the GSF1200’s BST36 carburetor,
and as the miles add up, you can see the slide valve, needle, and bore visibly wearing down,
but modern carburetors don’t wear as much.
The needle isn’t even dull,
and the slide valve is worn, sure, but at this mileage it’s only worn this much—pretty impressive.
So we checked the fuel level in all four carbs,
balanced them,
swapped the muffler,
and threw in some other stuff to test,
and it’s running really smooth now ♪
