Mysterious Malfunction Dot Com (SRX400)

There are quite a few mysterious malfunctions out there in the world ★
Some are mechanical in nature
Some are electrical in nature
And once you figure out the answer, it’s like “of course!”
This time we have “the starter keeps spinning even though the main key is OFF.”
At least the engine won’t start, so that’s a relief.
I was able to borrow the manual from the owner, so this should go quickly.

We’ve narrowed it down pretty well now ★ This is the wiring going to the main key
 

 
What’s this?
I think it’s probably a homemade headlight brightness kit.
It’s got some insulation, but it’s mostly exposed.
The handlebar area is now clean and properly insulated.
The mysterious continuity in the starter relay is gone, so it should be fine.
All that’s left is to charge the battery, check it, and we’re done ★
