It was a real struggle getting the throttle sleeve off—I couldn’t believe it was even installed in the first place.
In the end, I had to remove the carburetor and wiggle things around before it finally came loose.
I applied a thin, light coat of engine oil (pine) to the throttle sleeve.
I cleaned the inside of the sleeve nicely.
The grip was sticking out and dragging on the handlebar and bar end, so I cut it off without mercy!
I lubricated the cable too, and now it goes “snap! snap!”—light and responsive.
It feels great, I’d say.
