The light intensity measurement is giving us some weird numbers, so I’m a bit worried…
The other day the inspector told me, “The V-Max and DR400 fail pretty often…”
The DR is really the worst—you pretty much have to do a direct battery connection to make it pass.
So…
When I checked this V-Max with the tester, 5000 candela? No way.
By eye it should be 18900 candela…
I’ll head out tomorrow with the inspection gear anyway.
The CO/HC tester is pricey, but digital is definitely the way to go ★
It takes only 5 minutes to measure compared to about 30 minutes with an analog one.
Starting now, the Flat-Rate Motorcycle Inspection will also include light axis adjustment, light intensity check, CO/HC measurement, and exhaust noise measurement.
