Check it with the piston in place but without the seal.
We’re replacing this ★
During assembly, we apply metal rubber lubricant thoroughly to the seal groove, piston, and dust and oil seals.
Metal rubber dissolves in the fluid, so it’s safe.
It shouldn’t happen, but residue might remain and get gritty.
Just to be safe, we basically don’t use grease-based products
