After replacing the caliper, the hose didn’t reach, so we’re installing two new lines at the bottom.
In situations like this, mesh hose that you can adjust and fabricate later is a lifesaver.
Aluminum fitting hose is also inexpensive and good,
but most people end up rebuilding it anyway.
• Buy it long and cheap—but the appearance isn’t great and it touches something somewhere
• Too long, so it’s in an “S” shape/twisted, putting stress on the fitting

The pad plate shape is the same,
but the friction material position seems slightly different, though we’ll call it close enough
The old pads are worn and aged anyway, so we’ll go with these.
Since it’s a new caliper, we wrapped the piston in metal rubber and bedded it in.
“That’s a pretty stiff seal,” I thought,
but it feels pretty good.
Our tester can only measure the “HI side”—too bad!
On the HI side it’s just over 50,000 candela—promoted!
The inspection standard is 15,000, so we’re good—but
To be honest, with a projector bulb the light scatters,
so the LOW side feel is…
Even on HI it’s pretty white!
It might be easier to understand if you imagine adjusting a flashlight.
