The sidestand bracket was secured with a pop nut…
When I reinstalled it with the sidestand reversal plan, the torque wouldn’t hold and—goodbye!
There’s only about 80 mm of clearance straight down, so I was in a bind.
If I’m going to modify and reinstall it, I’d like to move it to the front like the current style.
But there’s no end to it, so…
Thinking “there’s no way I can work in such a tight space,” I turned to my last resort:
“Google Sensei”
I searched for “pop nut tool”
“Little Pop Nutter”
What I found seemed… okay? I mean, is this really a legit tool? Sorry for the doubt.
Even watching the video, it looked pretty sketchy…
How does it keep the nut from spinning?

But wow, it’s really well thought out! ★

Normally, we’d crimp with a tool like this: ★
Now we can repair even in really tight spaces:
Locked down solid! ★
I’m not sure if it’s the pop nutter’s design or what, but the tightening feel is excellent too! ★
No sense of “oh no, is it going to spin?” either.
The tightening came out “click-perfect!” ★
OEM parts really are well designed. Beautiful.

On bikes where we’ve done front-end maintenance, we don’t like to loosen the top center nut except for adjustment, service, or twist issues. ★
I also put in a fresh air filter, and after a test ride, we’re done! !!
