I’ve been test riding since this morning and making invoices
and buying materials while being careful about parking restrictions near Togashi Engineering and linking!
Leftover snacks from last night.
Since this is repair and correction work, I’ll proceed in a way that requires as little labor as possible.
There are POP rivets on the side of the frame, so I’ll use those.
I’ll quickly make a couple of Mushicorners-style plates.
5052 with T=2.5mm is a thickness I quite like.
It’s more reliable than 2mm and bends more cleanly than 3mm.
Of course it does…
I welded it on the back side, and that avoided the tanuki’s dangly state.
There’s no license plate mounting bracket or turn signal bracket, so
I made the rear side T=3mm and floating, then fixed it.
I’ll spare you the close-up of the welding—viewer discretion advised.
Since it takes a lot of work, I haven’t lightened it.
This is how it looks.
I tried positioning the turn signal up, down, inside, and so on…
“Is this the final stock form after all?” So I put it where it’s easiest to install.
↑The composition was different to begin with, so you can’t tell? That’s just how the world works.
I forgot to install the reflector, so I’ll stick it on now.
