So today I’d like to move forward with the wiring work. It’s tedious, the most time-consuming, and the riskiest job.
I can’t really recommend marking with tape. (To some extent it’s unavoidable, but…)
Bullet connectors and coupler shapes that are hard to tell apart risk being plugged in wrong, which causes trouble.
It becomes much easier if you either change the shape so there’s no overlap, or make them distinguishable by color.
It’s not as interesting to jump straight to completion, but I’ve set it up with a standard coupler ON, so it’s easy to revert to the stock assembly if needed.

If you don’t install it while thinking about removing and attaching the meter assembly, the finish will be disappointing.
With this kind of outer sheath, the appearance gains quite a bit of premium feel, and since it slides smoothly, you can use it with confidence.
Meter constant power If you label it like this, the risk of making a mistake drops dramatically.
