From Osaka land transport maintenance. We’re grateful for the opportunity.
This is the Bandit 1200 K6 we picked up the other day. It came to us via land transport from Osaka.
First, I’d like to get started on the wheel bearings.
There’s still oil in there, and the condition is relatively good.
The wheel side looked good too.
I think the seal type that prevents unnecessary oil spray is the way to go.
New seals are tight, so by doing a light initial break-in, the sweet spot lasts longer.
Measuring the distance collar on both front and rear comes in handy next time.
The owner mentioned it feels like the rear is dragging. I don’t see any obvious issues with the caliper, but I’ll clean it anyway and check the piston operation.
The pads are pretty glazed too. I can’t tell from this condition whether it’s from heavy use or from dragging.
The disc is pretty glazed too.
I checked around the footpegs too, but didn’t find anything unusual. Let me take it for a test ride to check it out.
