Cylinders #2–4 had a bit of rust buildup, but nothing to worry about.

The slide body shows no significant wear, so we can feel confident about its condition.

It’s in such good shape—that’s a relief.

For the float valve, we check the taper tip’s wear and hardness, and verify that the pin spring on the opposite side is functioning properly.
Depending on the condition, it’s not a part I replace very often.

Knowing the actual fuel level and how it compares to the float level might help clear up some of those mysterious problems.
