At our shop, we recommend Daido for chains and Sunstar for sprockets, as they also perform OEM manufacturing for various makers.
We convert from 630 to 530. Since Sunstar doesn’t have this configuration listed, we need to verify by actual measurement.
Even if something is listed for a specific model, always verify. Let’s reduce uncertainty by even one percent and increase certainty.
The rear is finished in black with hard anodizing for a sleek look. Black alone doesn’t guarantee sophistication, so choosing the right color for the right application is essential. We set all bikes to M10 with a 14 mm wrench width and M8 with a 12 mm wrench width.
Based on our measurements, we determined whether to reduce the front or increase the rear. We adjust by changing the thickness of the countershaft collar. Since Kawasaki uses a press fit, we fabricated a simple puller.
Puller fabrication took one hour. Machining and assembly took ten minutes. This happens all the time. We learn every day. The shifting becomes smoother and quieter. Work on the rotating system, including the chain, really makes a difference both in feel and appearance.
