At the bottom, we cut the nut and weld on a receiver to finish it.
Today I’d like to work on the middle cowl side. Last time I couldn’t come up with a good idea. In such cases, I think it’s best to let it sit for a while.
To make it a KIT
• Relatively easy to manufacture • Fit without being too tight • Low cost • Installation without modification is necessary.
Then a bright idea suddenly struck me, and I quickly made a prototype.
It needs to fit within a width of about 20 mm. And it must be able to mount on the engine side.
I made it a two-piece structure. Since it’s a prototype, the workmanship is rough, but I hope you’ll understand.
I haven’t yet machined the parts to fix the two pieces together, but I’m thinking of using a bolt to secure them. It can be bolted together, and no welding is needed.
Fix a receiver on the engine side
and cover it, then bolt it from the side—that should work fine. You have to leave some slack, or on bikes where the upper cowl is bent, installation gets really tight…
But fitting the middle cowl without modification looks pretty tricky…. Well, I’ll see when I have time…
