GSX1400 chassis total maintenance request. This is the work of maintaining all the bearings, chain, and sprockets around the vehicle body.
We proceed with the work while the disassembled parts are in the workspace.
The caliper condition is good. There’s some corrosion around the dust seal, but it’s within acceptable range. When the inside of the dust seal corrodes, it causes the piston to stick more tightly, which worsens piston extension and retraction. Naturally the push and pull become heavier, and various negative effects occur.
We can see that even if we spend time washing this condition and working the piston out, the effect is minimal.
We need to remove the internal corrosion.
We polish and clean the inside thoroughly. It feels great.
Since the fairing is in poor condition, we consulted with the customer and will paint it with gun coat (Cargard) in a matching color.
It has been sent out to the contractor.
