From concept to completion took about two months. We had the seat padding built up generously and adjusted it to the preferred size.
We shaped it through repeated shaving. Many single-seat style seats are released on the market, but getting a feel for the design with the actual seat and adjusting the volume is less likely to result in mistakes.
The CB1100 seat has a flat, cushion-like appearance. Since the bike already has minimal bodywork, adding a bit of volume in the rear gives it a completely different character.
This is my personal take on position setup, but I believe seat replacement or modification should be done last. Handlebar, post, and step components don’t offer much flexibility. Getting the overall shape right first, then moving to the seat, allows for more refined fitting.
