The existing setup was disappointing, and we agreed it needed to be replaced, so let’s make a new one.
We fabricated a mounting bracket to secure the TEE-FIT and welded it to the emblem stay.
This ensures solid mounting. Basically, we make sure everything is firmly secured.
There’s also a floating method, but depending on how you look at it, you often see hoses tied down with cable ties and rubber tubing. Since they’re free to move, they tend to rub against things in various places.
It’s compatible with racing stands, and the handlebar lock mounted on the stem is still easy to use.
The outer sheath is resistant to friction and provides smooth protection.
There needs to be a little slack when the fork is fully extended.
The key is to lay out the hose with a gentle curve, free of twists, so it experiences minimal stress.
Of course, it’s also good to plan the layout with serviceability in mind for the future.
Even when you buy off-the-shelf products, you often end up having to remake them because they don’t fit properly and develop twists, looseness, or leaks.
It’s important to pause and think carefully instead of casually buying aftermarket parts.
